The Ministry of Defense plans to provide shelters for the protection of aviation to the entire airfield network of the Armed Forces, said Lieutenant General Alexander Maksimtsev.
According to him, over the past two years, protective structures for sheltering military aviation equipment have already been erected at the main airfields of the Aerospace Forces (VKS).
In the future, it is planned to provide the entire airfield network of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with such shelters.
In May, military experts also noted the need to build new concrete shelters for strategic aviation aircraft of the VKS.
It is known from open sources that as of 2021, the total number of strategic missile carriers Tu-160 in service with Long-Range Aviation is approximately 16 units. The number of Tu-95 strategic bombers is about 20 units.
