The Central Research Institute of Automation and Hydraulics (TsNIIAG), part of the High-Precision Complexes holding, together with NPP Proyekt-Tekhnika, have developed the first Russian passenger boarding bridge – a passenger "sleeve" for boarding and disembarking passengers at airports. Previously, such equipment was supplied only from abroad.
The boarding bridge is equipped with electro-hydraulic and electromechanical drives, as well as a control and safety system. This allows the device to change its height, length, and shape, making it suitable for use with any type of aircraft, from regional to long-haul.
In addition to creating a new boarding bridge, TsNIIAG plans to modernize imported equipment, produce spare parts, and provide maintenance, which will reduce the dependence of Russian airports on foreign suppliers.
This is important because the emergence of a domestic boarding bridge strengthens the technological independence of aviation infrastructure and increases the reliability of aircraft servicing at Russian airports.
