The base version of the new Lada Iskra car does not have air conditioning. AvtoVAZ conducted a study that showed that not all drivers need this comfort feature. This was announced by the chief engineer of the Lada Iskra project, Vitaly Loginov.
We analyzed the market and saw that not all consumers use air conditioning in one way or another. That is, there are regions, for example, with a cold climate, where air conditioning is not needed, but things like a rain sensor, a light sensor — that is, options that the consumer uses in any region — they are in demand, so we introduced them here in automatic mode.
Lada Iskra will not receive a 1.8-liter engine and a blind spot monitoring system, which are already available in the Lada Vesta model. However, he added that a station wagon with a 16-valve engine and a 6-speed manual transmission will still appear on the market, although it is not currently presented in the company's catalog.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Lada Iskra will acquire a new, more powerful engine.
