The Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, Anton Kotyakov, stated that the profession of operator of computer numerical control (CNC) machines will remain in demand until 2029. Currently, about 700,000 people work in this field, but an additional 170,000 specialists will be required. The main reasons are the creation of new jobs and the retirement of some employees.
Employers are looking for qualified specialists capable of operating high-tech equipment. They are offered competitive salaries and comfortable working conditions. From July 30 to August 1, the federal stage of the "Best in Profession" competition will be held in Tula, where the best CNC machine operator will be determined. The winner will receive 1 million rubles.
Viktor Petrov, chairman of the expert commission of the competition, noted that CNC machines are used in the production of parts for cars, airplanes, furniture and even medical prostheses. Therefore, specialists in this field are critical for the development of high-tech industries.
