One of the main tasks is to replace eight evaporative modules in steam generator No. 4. Specialists will also update relay protection and automation on turbogenerator No. 5. Old electromechanical systems will be replaced with microprocessor-based ones. This will increase their response speed. Other works include repairing the reactor's main circulation pump. Its electric motor will be replaced, and the cooling system will be cleaned. 24 units of sodium circuit valves will be updated.

During the maintenance, 107 fuel assemblies will be reloaded. Three of them contain mixed nitride uranium-plutonium fuel (SNUP). These assemblies have been operating in the reactor for about a year. Their study will help in the development of new generation reactors, such as BN-1200M and BREST.

The maintenance is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2025.
