The Russian government has adopted a decree establishing requirements for the power of electric charging stations. These norms also define specific locations where their placement is mandatory.
From March 1, 2026, a requirement comes into force for the mandatory presence of infrastructure for charging electric vehicles at gas stations located within the right-of-way of highways. The corresponding measures involve the installation of direct current charging stations with a minimum power of 44 kW, and also supplements the list of minimum necessary services provided at roadside service facilities.
