The high-speed passenger catamaran "Fort Shanets" (project 04580 "Kotlin") was launched at the Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant in St. Petersburg. This was reported in the press service of the United Shipbuilding Corporation.
The catamaran "Fort Shanets" will connect the center of St. Petersburg with the museum and historical park "Island of Forts". This is the last vessel in a series of 6 catamarans of project 04580 "Kotlin".
The uniqueness of the catamaran lies in combining the qualities of a river vessel with low wave formation and a coastal vessel with increased seaworthiness.
The catamarans "Fort Kronslot", "Fort Peter I", "Fort Alexander I" and "Fort Totleben" are already on the route. "Fort Obruchev" was launched at the end of May.
