This year, Russian Railways received 243 new locomotives. The majority of the equipment will be sent to the east of the country, where railway infrastructure is actively developing.
Among the new machines are 96 ES5K "Ermak" series freight electric locomotives. They are produced in two-, three-, and four-section versions, which allows for the transportation of more goods over long distances. The fleet also includes 31 3ES6 "Sinara" locomotives. For passenger transportation, EP1M electric locomotives were purchased: four for the Gorky Railway and five for the Oktyabrskaya and Moscow Railways.
The diesel locomotive fleet was replenished with 30 3TE28 and 2TE25KM freight models, two TEP70BS passenger models, and 75 TEM18DM shunting locomotives. All of them are equipped with modern control systems and meet environmental standards.
