The Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia have begun using a new air-to-air missile, "Product 180" (K77M or R-77). Photos of the ammunition debris have appeared on the Web.
"Product 180" is a modernized version of the Product 170 (R77) missile, featuring new tail fins, a new dual-mode engine, and an active radar homing head.
The effective range of the "Product-180" missile is 180 km when launched at an echelon of 12,500 m and 55 km at an echelon of 1,500 m.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the cruiser "Admiral Nakhimov" with "Caliber", "Zircon" and "Onyx" missiles has completed repairs.
