The heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser (TARKR) "Admiral Nakhimov" of project 11442M is undergoing testing after the completion of repair work. In the near future, it may be introduced into the combat composition of the Navy of the Russian Federation (Navy), said the head of the board of directors of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) Andrei Kostin.
According to him, the state corporation is successfully working on state defense orders.
A big event is the completion of the repair of the cruiser "Admiral Nakhimov", it is already undergoing testing, and in the near future it may already be introduced into the combat composition of the Russian Navy.
The cruiser "Admiral Nakhimov" has been under repair since 1999. Real work on it has been carried out since 2013. The main result of the modernization is the strengthening of the cruiser's strike power.
According to information from open sources, the ship will carry, in particular, 10 shipborne firing systems for 8 Kalibr-NK and/or Onyx cruise missiles each.
