The new electric vessel of the "Strelna" project has started operating in St. Petersburg. It has become part of the "Moscow 2.0" project. The vessel will cruise along the Neva River with access to the Gulf of Finland. It is planned to make up to seven trips a day.
"Strelna" was built at the "Emperium" shipyard in the Leningrad region by order of "Vodohod Passenger Port" company. This is the lead vessel of the new series, and it is planned to deliver five more of these electric vessels by the summer of 2026.
The electric vessel is equipped with a hybrid power plant. In electric mode it can operate for at least 7 hours, after which the generator is connected.
In the coming years, it is planned to build seven more vessels of this series, some of which will be delivered to St. Petersburg.
The vessel accommodates 140 passengers. On the main deck there is a restaurant with a bar, and in the bow there is a business lounge with panoramic windows. The upper deck is divided into an open area and a closed panoramic salon. Passengers can choose seats in three classes: business, comfort and standard.
The "Moscow 2.0" project is a new model of electric vessels developed by the Emperium design bureau. The construction of the first vessel began in 2024. This is a modern version of the "Moscow" R-51 motor ship, which was a successful project in Soviet times.
The first vessel was laid down at the Emperium shipyard on April 27, 2024. By 2030, it is planned to build 25 vessels of this project.
The vessel has an ergonomic design and comfortable conditions for passengers, including spacious saloons, a bar, a restaurant and open decks. It is equipped with two electric motors with a capacity of 200 kW each and batteries with a capacity of 560 kWh, which allows it to develop a cruising speed of up to 6 knots (11 km/h).
