AvtoVAZ presented the results of crash tests of the new LADA Iskra model, which will go on sale on July 20. The tests showed a high level of passive safety, the company said.
The model passed a series of tests: rear impact at a speed of 50 km/h, frontal impact with 40-percent overlap at 56 km/h, and side impact at a speed of 50 km/h. Following these tests, the manufacturer expects the maximum rating in the ARCAP rating — at the level of LADA Vesta and foreign cars of classes B and B+.
The company noted that the Iskra design was developed taking into account safety requirements and exceeds regulatory standards in a number of parameters. Efficiency in the event of an accident is ensured by the power frame of the body, restraint systems, the structure of the dashboard, seats and electronic assistants.
