AvtoVAZ at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum first demonstrated the Lada Iskra Sport version in racing design and with an upgraded engine. The shots appeared on social networks.
The car is equipped with an upgraded 1.8-liter engine with 173 hp. The rear of the car body was reinforced from the inside with a reinforced frame. Two front sports seats were installed in the car.
Lada Iskra is a new family of compact class "B" cars, the line which includes a sedan, a station wagon and an all-terrain station wagon in the Cross version. In the Lada model range, the car will take a place between the Granta and Vesta models.
The level of localization of the car exceeds 90%. In the basic version, the car will receive an anti-lock braking system (ABS), an electronic stabilization system (ESC) and two airbags. Iskra is equipped with 1.6-liter Lada engines with 90 or 106 hp, which are installed in pairs with a 5- or 6-speed manual gearbox, as well as with a continuously variable automatic transmission.
Mass production of the model was launched on March 19 in Togliatti. Official sales of Lada Iskra in dealerships will begin on July 20.
