At "Metrovagonmash" (part of TMH), Russia's largest metro car manufacturing plant, a project is underway to update the rolling stock of the Novosibirsk Metro. A delegation from Novosibirsk, led by Deputy Governor Roman Telenchinov, visited the plant and reviewed the production process of the new cars.
The plant is preparing the first train of model 81-725.3/726.3/727.3 for dispatch, which will be used in the Novosibirsk Metro. In 2024, TMH signed a contract for the supply of five five-car trains: three of them will be leased through "Sberbank Leasing", and the metro will purchase two trains directly. Delivery is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025.
Roman Mironov, Director of Urban Transport Development at TMH, noted that the new cars were developed specifically for Novosibirsk. Andrey Stepnov, General Director of "Metrovagonmash", added that the city will receive a unique train modification with a new color scheme and interior design.
During the meeting, production issues and approaches to maintenance were discussed. Iosif Kodalaev, First Vice-Mayor of Novosibirsk, emphasized that the new trains will begin to arrive in the city by the end of the year.
In conclusion, the delegates inspected the plant's workshops and left inscriptions on a commemorative plaque in a metro car that will be sent to Novosibirsk.
