The team of the domestic messenger Max has started testing the channels function. More than 50 authors are participating in the pilot launch, including media, bloggers and influencers. Their channels are available through a separate showcase and search within the application.
Users can already subscribe to channels, react, customize notifications, pin interesting feeds and combine them into folders. In the near future, the developers plan to add comments, a view counter, design and separate chats for channels.
Max is a digital platform from VK with a messenger, mini-applications, bots, GigaChat and services like OzonTravel. The application supports audio and video calls, sending files up to 4 GB, translations and creating sticker packs.
Max is included in the register of domestic software and will be mandatory for pre-installation on all smartphones and tablets sold in Russia from September 1, 2025.
According to the developers, the number of messenger users in July exceeded two million.
