VASO Contractor Missed Deadlines for Technical Re-equipment of Workshops for Il-112V, but Avoided Fine

The Arbitration Court of Voronezh Refused to Recover Penalties from the Contractor Who Delayed the Modernization for the Production of a Military Transport Aircraft

The Voronezh Arbitration Court refused PJSC "Ilyushin Aviation Complex" to recover more than 5 million rubles in penalties from the contractor for disrupting the deadlines for the technical re-equipment of the workshops of the Voronezh Aircraft Construction Company (VASO). The work was carried out in 2021-2022 as part of preparations for the serial production of the Il-112V military transport aircraft.

According to the case materials, the contractor completed the modernization only in October 2023, although the deadlines were missed. However, the defendant pointed to delays in payment from the customer, which influenced the court's decision.

The Il-112V was developed as a light military transport aircraft to replace the outdated An-26. The first test flight in 2021 ended in disaster due to an engine malfunction, which led to the suspension of the project. The future of the Il-112V remains unclear – VASO does not provide official comments.
