The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Anton Alikhanov, visited the KAMAZ engineering center in Moscow. He inspected the production facilities and discussed with the company's management the preparation for the launch of the Atom electric vehicle into mass production. This was reported by the press service of the department.
Alikhanov was shown the company's IT solutions and the development of driver assistance systems. The Minister also visited the low-voltage laboratory, the research and validation centers.
To date, preparations for the launch of Atom are proceeding according to plan, equipment has already been installed at the production site, and a full-scale launch of mass production is scheduled for the second half of 2025.
According to him, the engineers working on the Atom have prepared a Russian platform for electric vehicles, and are now testing and calibrating systems on pre-production prototypes.
After visiting the KAMAZ center, Alikhanov got behind the wheel. He drove the Atom through the center of Moscow.
