India No Longer Needs Su-35 Fighters: It Has Made a Choice in Favor of Other Aircraft

The country may abandon Su-35 deliveries in favor of the Su-57

India may abandon deliveries of Russian fourth-generation Su-35 fighters in favor of fifth-generation Su-57 aircraft, as it will gain full control over the technology of the latter. This was stated by Military Watch Magazine (MWM).

Journalists claim that the Russian side promised India to quickly fill the gap in the decommissioned MiG-27 and MiG-21 aircraft by supplying a batch of the latest Su-35s.

It seems more likely that the licensed production of fifth-generation Su-57 fighters, which the Indian Ministry of Defense was reported to be considering in February, will be implemented, especially after Russia made an unprecedented offer in May to provide full access to the aircraft's source code.

The advantage of the Su-35 over the Su-57 is the higher production rate of the first aircraft and the Indian side's experience in operating the Su-30MKI, which has many systems in common with the Su-35.

Earlier www1.ru reported that a new wide-body aircraft will appear in Russia: development deadlines have been announced.
