Такси дорожает на 200% во время сбоев мобильной связи: прокуратура начала проверку

Citizens' complaints about fare hikes of 2-3 times have triggered an investigation

The Prosecutor General's Office has launched an investigation into the justification for rising taxi prices in regions experiencing widespread mobile and internet outages. The reason for this was numerous complaints from citizens about the increase in the cost of trips - in some cases, the cost jumped 2-3 times.

In the event of a communication shutdown, drivers cannot go online, which reduces the number of available cars and leads to a sharp increase in prices.

Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov instructed to check the actions of aggregators and carriers, especially for possible collusion.

In Moscow, tariffs increased by 75–100%, and in some areas — up to 200%
Ekaterina Eremina, Chairman of the Council for the Development of the Transport Industry of the CIS

At the same time, the income of drivers per trip decreased, and the revenue of companies increased by 30–40%.

Rising prices in an emergency situation may indicate a violation of consumer rights and principles of fair competition.
