Росатом построит в Ростовской области ветропарк «Вербная» мощностью до 100 МВт

The agreement was signed at Innoprom-2025

Rosatom plans to build a new "Verbnaia WPP" wind farm with a capacity of up to 100 MW in the Morozovsky district of the Rostov region.

The cooperation agreement between the government of the Rostov region and JSC "VetroOGK-3", which is part of the state corporation, was signed on July 8, 2025 at the Innoprom-2025 industrial exhibition in Yekaterinburg.

The project has already been worked out: a power distribution scheme has been agreed with the system operator and the grid company, and the facility has been included in the territorial planning and regional development program. Equipment for the construction of wind turbines will be produced at Rosatom's factories in Volgodonsk, as well as at partner enterprises.

Igor Burlakov, General Director of the Investment Development Agency, noted at Innoprom that the Rostov region is the leader in wind energy in Russia and ranks first in the corresponding rating of the Association for the Development of Renewable Energy. A quarter of all Russian wind energy projects are located in the region - these are not only wind farms, but also manufacturing enterprises that produce equipment for wind power plants.

Rosatom's first wind farm in the region, the Marchenkovskaya WPP with a capacity of 120 MW, was commissioned in the Zimovnikovsky district in 2021. According to the regional Ministry of Industry and Energy, the operating wind farms provide about 8% of the total electricity generation in the Rostov region's power system.
