The Russian startup company NAVIO has presented its first model, the L5 autonomous truck tractor. This prototype was first shown in December 2024 and is currently in the stage of refinement and testing.
NAVIO L5 stands out with its futuristic and aerodynamic cab design, which features a huge LED screen displaying current information. The designation L5 indicates the maximum level of autonomous control. The tractor is equipped with artificial intelligence, radars, lidars, and 360-degree cameras, allowing it to effectively analyze the environment.
NAVIO L5 is capable of saving up to 15% of fuel, which collectively reduces transportation costs by up to 30%. The useful operating time of the tractor can reach 23 hours per day. It controls its position in the lane, speed, and distance to objects, and can also perform emergency braking and other maneuvers to prevent accidents.
The autonomous truck is under round-the-clock control of a remote operator, who receives data on the condition of the vehicle in real time. V2X (vehicle-to-everything) technology allows specialists at the teleoperations center to respond quickly to events along the route.
The L5 cab is universal and can be installed on the chassis of semi-trucks from various manufacturers. Thanks to its high aerodynamic efficiency, NAVIO L5 is a promising solution for the transport industry.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Navio presented the Russian unmanned tractor L5.
