A new "Yolka" interceptor drone has been developed for the Russian military, becoming a "pocket air defense" system for soldiers. This interceptor drone can be carried and quickly launched towards an attacking object in case of a threat from an enemy drone.
After launch, "Yolka" does everything itself, operating on the principle of "released – forgotten." The drone's concept is based on the kinetic destruction of the object; it rams the object at high speed, knocking it off course.
"Yolka" is configured with an aerodynamic design featuring two X-shaped wings and a central fuselage.
This configuration provides good stability and maneuverability at high speeds, and is also compact for storage and transportation.
According to open sources, the drone is capable of reaching speeds of up to 250 km/h, allowing the device to intercept aerial targets not only on head-on courses, but also in pursuit. The interceptor has a range of up to 3 km.
