Tests of a prototype laser anti-drone "raygun" within the "Posokh" project will be completed by the end of August. Simulators of the "Lyutyi" strike drone will be hit from a distance of 1500 meters, according to the developing company.
The company explained that the most relevant targets for the new system are object-based rear-area drone strike assets of the "Lyutyi" type.
We are preparing a prototype for this task, which we should test by the end of the summer. Our priority target for destruction is the "Lyutyi" drone, which we must burn with a laser at a distance of 1500 meters.
The company's director noted that the "raygun" strikes silently and instantly in seconds, guaranteeing the destruction of any element of the drone that gets into the sights.
One charge should be enough for several dozen targets of the FPV-drone, "Baba Yaga," or "Lyutyi" type.
Unlike missile or firearm weapons, the laser beam leaves no visible traces, acts with instantaneous speed, and creates no noise, making it an effective tool for protecting objects from air attacks.
