Temporary restrictions on mobile internet have been introduced in the Rostov Region to reduce the risks associated with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles. The decision was made by the regional operational headquarters after analyzing the increased activity of drones capable of using cellular networks for navigation and control.

The technological response includes the deployment of a WiMAX network — a wireless communication standard that provides high-speed wireless internet access. In parallel, banks and retail chains have been instructed to switch ATMs to wired connections where this has not yet been done.
