Temporary restrictions on mobile internet have been introduced in the Rostov region to reduce the risks associated with the use of unmanned aerial vehicles. The decision was made by the regional operational headquarters after analyzing the increased activity of drones capable of using cellular networks for navigation and control.
We are used to living in the age of the internet, and a lot depends on it. Without it, taxis don't work, delivery services don't function, and it's not possible to pay everywhere. The inconveniences are, of course, significant. That's on one hand. But on the other hand, the safety of residents is absolutely a priority. We see what is happening: the number and quality of attacks, unfortunately, are increasing.
The technological response includes the deployment of a WiMAX network - a wireless communication standard that provides high-speed wireless internet access. In parallel, banks and retail chains have been instructed to switch ATMs to wired connections where this has not yet been done.
