LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky will send an appeal to the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation demanding that the algorithms of the Shedevrum neural service (developed by Yandex) be checked for compliance with Russian cultural and historical norms. The reason was tests conducted by the youth wing of the party: when requesting a "Russian cosmonaut," the AI generated images with the US flag, and attempts to exclude foreign symbols were met with a technical refusal.

You ask to depict a Russian cosmonaut - it gives out an American one, with their flag. You ask for a cosmonaut without the American flag - it answers that it is impossible to generate a cosmonaut without the USA flag. You make a different request on a patriotic theme - again "star-striped" pictures and comics.
Slutsky added that Russia has its own iconic figures, national heroes and a national flag, and citizens should not be ashamed of their belonging to the country, otherwise "it will be rewritten for us."
Is this really a domestic application from a Russian developer? We will figure it out. We will send an appeal to the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation to conduct an investigation into the possible presence in the actions of the AI developer of signs of criminal law in terms of discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
The politician stressed that he supports technological progress, but called such services "tools of semantic policy" that affect identity, "which means there are still questions for developers."
