Russia is expanding the Kazan Aviation Plant (part of UAC), where large production facilities were built last winter.
According to satellite images, the largest of the new buildings is about 320 m long and has an area of approximately 19 000 m², comparable to three football fields.
The reason for the expansion is the need to strengthen its own production of aircraft for civil and military aviation. According to a source, about a billion euros were allocated for the modernization of the plant.
The Kazan plant produces and modernizes Tu-160Ms and builds new Tu-160M2s. Old Tu-22M3s are also being modernized.
Earlier www1.ru reported that details about the new Russian ballistic missile have appeared.
