The head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Sergei Boyarsky, called for protecting children and elderly parents from unwanted calls from unknown numbers in Telegram and WhatsApp. This can be done through settings.
In these two notorious messengers that you still use today, there is a function deep in the settings to disable calls from unknown numbers. Be sure to set this function for children and elderly parents, then scammers will not be able to reach them.
The deputy emphasized that in Russia, scammers continue to actively use Telegram and WhatsApp for daily attacks. They replace photos and pose as management to deceive both individuals and enterprises and organizations.
Giving a clear message to citizens: if the post office, FSB, Ministry of Internal Affairs, or clinic calls you via WhatsApp, it is definitely a scam.
Earlier, attackers began to massively create fake Telegram channels of famous bloggers. They lure people with offers to invest or buy courses.
