Hope of Russian Aviation: MC-21 Tests to be Conducted at Various Airfields Across the Country

Certification Tests of the Aircraft with the PD-14 Engine Have Officially Started

A series of certification tests of the latest MC-21 aircraft with domestically sourced equipment and systems began at the airfield in Zhukovsky this week. During the first flight, radio communication tests were conducted, but this is just the beginning.

Nikolai Fonurin, Deputy Head of the Refinement and Flight Test Complex for Civil Aviation Technology at PJSC "Yakovlev", noted that two MC-21 aircraft, numbers 0012 and 0013, have entered the stage of additional certification tests.

After the radio communication quality tests, the aircraft with the number 12 will undergo tests on the fire protection system, and aircraft 0013 will be tested for the quality of the fuel system, anti-icing system, and hydraulic system.

In particular, tests under natural icing conditions will be conducted at the Arkhangelsk airfield. Tests on the tire are expected to take place at the airfield in Ulyanovsk.
