Turkey chooses Russian S-400 "Triumph": it does not need Western SAMs

Erdogan called the issue with Russian air defense systems closed

Turkey has definitively closed the issue of the feasibility of acquiring Russian Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM). This was stated by the President of the Republic, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The head of state stressed that he did not discuss the topic of the S-400 at a meeting with American leader Donald Trump, but spoke with him about F-35 aircraft.

We did not discuss the S-400 during our meeting with Trump. It was not on our agenda. And this issue is already closed, a done deal. We discussed the issue with the F-35.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey

After Turkey and Russia concluded a contract for the supply of a regimental set of S-400, the country was excluded in 2019 from the US program to create a new generation of F-35 fighters. Following this, Turkey began talking about alternatives to the F-35.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the first footage of the flight of the latest Geranium-2 at a great height has appeared.
