Moscow Central Diametrical line (MCD-4) has become the first in Russia to implement a digital interval train control system. Now, trains on this line do not depend on traffic light signals, but exchange data with each other. Drivers can independently control the speed and distance to the trains ahead.
The innovative system is resistant to cyberattacks. The latest updates were completed at the Kuskovo and Reutov stations, as well as on the stretch between them.
The transition to a new traffic control system will increase the capacity of MCD-4. In the future, electric trains will be able to run with minimal intervals, which will make trips more convenient and efficient for passengers.
