A new production site, created with the participation of Transneft, has started operating at the A.E. Favorsky Irkutsk Institute of Chemistry, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The company's main product is fluorinated alkanes, which are used in the production of drag-reducing additives for oil pipelines. These additives increase the efficiency of hydrocarbon transportation, reducing energy consumption and pipe wear.
A special feature of the project is the complete replacement of foreign analogues, which corresponds to the strategy of technological sovereignty.
This is an example of effective interaction between a scientific institution and business. And even more significant is that the implementation of such large projects in this difficult time opens up new opportunities for young scientists.
Transneft Vice Presidents Maxim Grishanin and Pavel Revel-Muroz visited the production facility, discussing prospects for further cooperation with the region. An agreement on the socio-economic development of the Irkutsk region is also being considered.
