According to the plan, the first concrete pouring at the site of power unit No. 1 is scheduled for December 2027, and the commissioning of the facility is scheduled for 2033. Power unit No. 2 is planned to be commissioned in 2035.

To date, several possible sites for the station have been considered, among which the territory near the closed city of Fokino is considered the most promising. The final choice of the site will be made during the development of the investment justification (OBIN). Public hearings on its location are planned to be held before the end of 2025.

The decision to accelerate the commissioning of two power units was made as part of the implementation of the President of the Russian Federation's instruction on the advanced development of the Far Eastern Federal District. The Primorskaya NPP project was included in the General Scheme for the Placement of Electricity Facilities until 2042, approved by the Russian government in December 2024. Two 500 kV power transmission lines with a total length of more than 200 kilometers will be connected to the station.
