Footage of RBK-500 cluster aerial bombs with universal planning and correction modules (UMPC) on the pylons of a Su-34 fighter has appeared online.
RBK-500 is a one-time bomb cassette. It is a thin-walled aerial bomb. It carries small-caliber submunitions (up to 20 kg). There are several types of this bomb, differing in the type of submunitions.
Some RBKs have a removable fairing in the kit, which allows you to effectively install ammunition on aircraft with both external suspension and an internal weapons bay.
The Convention on Cluster Munitions entered into force in 2010. It was joined by 108 states, and another 14 countries signed it but did not ratify it.
The largest producers and owners of this type of projectile — Brazil, Israel, India, China, Pakistan, Russia, the United States — are not parties to the Convention.
Characteristics of RKB-500 aerial bombs:
- Length — 1954 - 2500 m
- Caliber — 450 mm
- Weight — 480 - 525 kg
Earlier www1.ru reported that detailed shots of the Russian UMPC aerial bomb for the Su-34 and Su-57 have appeared.
