The premiere of the production version of the updated Lada Niva Travel took place at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025. The SUV received not only an updated design, but also technical improvements.
Under the hood, the model has a new 1.8-liter engine with a capacity of 90 hp. This is an eight-valve engine, well known from the Granta model, adapted for longitudinal arrangement.
The engine displacement was increased by 200 cubic centimeters by changing the piston stroke. This approach provides more traction at low and medium speeds — this is exactly what the model lacked since its release. Later, the same engine will be installed on the Niva Legend.
The front brakes are now borrowed from the Lada Vesta with ventilated discs. The rear brakes remained drum brakes.
The appearance of the Niva Travel has also been updated. The car received new headlights, a bumper and a radiator grille. The basic version uses halogen headlights. Modern LED headlights are installed in the middle configurations.
The interior remained the same. However, work on the model continues.
