AvtoVAZ shared advice on how to avoid rust on the body of Lada Niva SUVs. The company recommends that car owners annually carry out anti-corrosion treatment of the body.
On Niva Legend cars, body elements are covered with a cataphoretic primer. But we advise you to carry out anti-corrosion treatment of the body every year. After all, its condition can be affected by many aggressive factors that are not controlled by either the manufacturer or the owner (including the climatic features of the region of operation).
Over time, the quality of painting of SUVs improves: primer, enamel and varnish become better. However, the body panels of SUVs are not galvanized.
AvtoVAZ also explained why the Niva has a small trunk. According to the manufacturer, when this model was created, "the dimensions of the car were indicated 'from above' - this was the standard size of a promising car 'for rural areas'."
Theoretically, it would be possible to increase the rear overhang to make the trunk larger, but this would worsen the geometric cross-country ability of the car, because "an SUV should have the shortest possible tail."
