Russian military personnel have changed the tactics of using the Kh-47M2 «Kinzhal» air-based hypersonic missile system. It is used in conjunction with the «Iskander-M» operational-tactical missile system.
Reactive versions of «Geran-3» kamikaze drones are used as a distracting maneuver for air defense systems.
According to footage on social networks, Kh-101 air-launched cruise missiles («Product 504AP») were also used with the characteristic sound of L-504 dipole traps being fired.
The «Kinzhal» missiles are of greatest interest in this combination. The exact characteristics of the system have not yet been published in the public domain. However, it is known that the range of the complex is about 2 thousand km, and the maximum missile speed is up to 10 times the speed of sound.
At the moment of launch from the MiG-31 fighter, the missile already has a flight altitude of about 20 km and a speed of at least 1500 km/h. Due to these conditions, the «Kinzhal» ammunition receives a record range and flight speed.
