Russian soldiers used the BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle to cross a water obstacle. The footage appeared on social networks.
The ability to swim is the main feature of the BMP-3, distinguishing it from many vehicles of this class. The video showed a swimming BMP with an anti-drone visor, which is called a "barbecue grill."
Several empty barrels were also attached to the vehicle, which may act as floats. This helps to compensate for the increased weight of the BMP with additional protection.
The BMP-3 is designed for fire support and delivery of personnel to the front line. The basic version of the vehicle, weighing 18.7 tons, is protected by aluminum armor.
Additionally, the BMP-3 is equipped with a set of lattice screens and add-on armor. The arsenal includes a gun - a 100 mm caliber launcher, machine guns and a 30 mm caliber automatic cannon.
