At the "Moskvich" car factory, the equipping of lines for the production of the new Atom electric vehicle is being completed. This was reported by the press service of the car developer, JSC "Kama".
The company noted that key areas for welding, painting, calibration, testing, and quality control are already ready. As part of the commissioning, a batch of pre-production prototypes of the cars was manufactured. This series is intended for working out technological processes and checking the readiness of the assembly process for scaling.
The next stage will be the PT (Plant Trail) stage, during which the entire production chain will be worked out in serial mode. During this stage, the design indicators of the equipment will be checked, such as the manufacturing cycle time of the car and the reproducibility of processes.
Production of Atom electric vehicles will begin at the end of July. The car is a four-meter electric vehicle with rear-wheel drive and a powerful traction motor of 150 kW (204 hp). It will be equipped with a lithium-ion battery. This will allow the car to travel up to 500 km on a single charge.
Earlierwww1.ru reported that at the Russian-Chinese Forum in Khabarovsk, JSC "Kama" and the government of the Khabarovsk Territoryconcluded an agreement on cooperation in the field of electric vehicles.
