According to experts, 20% to 80% of patients who undergo surgery on oral tissues face complications during the recovery phase, including infectious lesions of wound surfaces and the formation of scars that can disrupt aesthetics. One way to reduce these risks is to use collagen membranes to close defects. Thus, scientists from the Institute of Regenerative Medicine at Sechenov University have created a personalized collagen membrane made from the Achilles tendon of cattle.
Membranes help accelerate the healing process, reduce the risk of complications, and improve the quality of life for patients.
