On Tuesday, June 10, photos of a Russian Su-24M bomber in Mali circulated online. The combat aircraft was spotted in satellite images.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has not officially reported on the visit of the Su-24M crews to the country.
About the Su-24
The Su-24 (NATO codification: Fencer) is a Russian supersonic bomber with a variable-sweep wing. It was the first round-the-clock strike and all-weather aircraft of tactical aviation in the Air Force of the USSR. It was mass-produced from 1971-1993.
Armament includes an expanded set of guided air-to-surface missiles, guided aerial bombs, and more advanced air-to-air missiles.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that a new Rodnik 3D radar was created for the military, but it is unable to detect small drones.
