The Yandex team has introduced a major update to the Yandex Go service — a new section called "Hub" has now appeared in the application. This is a universal space where users can plan and make trips by taxi, metro, bus, carsharing, and scooters — all in one window, without having to switch between different tabs and applications.
The service takes into account all key parameters: distance, travel time, road congestion, transfers, and cost. You can filter routes by speed, benefit, or the minimum number of walking sections. After selecting a suitable option, the user can immediately order a taxi, rent a scooter, or rent a car from the "Hub."
In the future, the "Hub" will be able to build multimodal routes. This means that it will be possible to combine different modes of transport in one trip — for example, metro and taxi, metro and scooter. All stages of the route, including payment, will be combined in a single Yandex Go interface.
Also, by the end of 2025, the service will allow you to buy travel passes, replenish physical transport cards, and issue virtual ones.
The launch of the "Hub" is due to the growing multiformat nature of urban travel. According to the service itself, 74% of users per month use at least two modes of transport, 54% use three or more, and 34% use four or more. Only 22% of Russians limit themselves to one mode of transport.
The most popular combinations were: taxi and public transport (40%), taxi and private car (35%), taxi and minibus (31%), public transport and minibus (30%), and public transport and private car (28%).
