UR-305UD New Missile Characteristics for Ka-52M and Mi-28NM Revealed: Better Than American AGM-179 JAGM

The ammunition's range has increased to 27 km thanks to a new dual-mode engine

The Russian military has received new air-launched UR-305UD missiles, which have become a modification of the LMUR tactical missiles.

Thanks to a higher-impulse dual-mode solid-propellant engine with a longer operating period, the missile's range has increased from 14,500 to 25,300-27,000 m.

These figures are significantly better than those of the American transonic tactical missile AGM-179 JAGM with a combined homing head (seeker) based on a thermal imaging and active radar sensor in the W-band.

The UR-305UD is equipped with a thermal imaging seeker, presumably operating in the mid-wave IR range (MWIR) with wavelengths of 3 - 5 μm. The launch of these products from the suspension units of the Mi-28NM and Ka-52M is carried out both from open firing points and from low-altitude closed launch lines - outside the range of the IRIS-T SLS and NASAMS anti-aircraft systems.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the military came up with a way to make ammunition for UAVs from an anti-tank mine.
