A video has been published online showing attempts by the American Patriot anti-aircraft complex to escape the impact of the Iskander-M operational tactical missile system (OTRK).
The attempt was unsuccessful - the Russian quasi-ballistic missile reached its target and destroyed the American SAM.
Unlike cruise missiles, ballistic missiles always have a predictable trajectory. However, in the case of the modernized Iskander this rule does not work, since any air defense system calculates the interception point based on the assumption that the target's trajectory will remain unchanged.
Iskander-M is used to destroy enemy air defense systems, as well as other important objects at a maximum range of up to 500 km.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the military came up with a way to make ammunition for UAVs from an anti-tank mine.
