MTS and the Chinese telecom company China Telecom have entered into a partnership agreement. As part of the collaboration, MTS plans to provide all Chinese-made cars in Russia with access to the internet and digital services. This was announced by Maxim Ananchenko, Director of the Business Market Products Department at MTS.
MTS and China's largest telecom company, China Telecom, have signed an agreement under which they plan to jointly develop the "Internet of Things in Transport." We will become a partner of China Telecom in Russia and, in the future, will provide all Chinese cars for our market with built-in internet and digital services.
The company has already worked with automotive brands such as Toyota, Geely, and Exeed. In the future, cooperation with Haval, Changan, and Avatr is planned.
Ananchenko added that MTS provides technological support, creating a reliable mobile infrastructure and managing it through "MTS M2M Manager." This allows manufacturers to offer customers a high-quality digital experience without worrying about connection, tariffs, and communication settings.
He added that users will be able to remotely launch car control via a mobile application. Online navigation services with traffic jams, online music, videos, weather, and access to social networks and games will also become available.
In recent months, Chinese cars, which are formally considered used but have virtually no mileage, have been actively entering the Russian market. The reason for this lies in the peculiarities of Chinese automakers' reporting. In China, dealers register cars as sold, although they actually remain in warehouses.
