The first stage of sea trials of the self-propelled cutter suction dredger "Lotos-2" (project 93.159) began at the production site "Lotos" of the Southern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center in the Astrakhan region. This was reported by the press service of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC).
The vessel checked the operation of all systems, anchoring and mooring devices, tested the power plant and radio navigation equipment. Before being handed over to the customer, "Lotos-2" will be tested again in the Volga River. The control exit is scheduled for the end of June.
The first two dredgers of project 93.159 have already been put into operation in 2023 and 2024. The vessels are being built by order of GTLK.
"Lotos-2" is designed for the development of silty, sandy and sandy-gravel soils, as well as for cleaning rivers and canals from silt. Its productivity is 900 cubic meters of soil per hour.
