The motor ship "Alpha", sailing under the Russian flag, collided with the lower gate at the Kochetovsky hydro-engineering complex on the Don River. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Rostov region.
In the city of Semikarakorsk, at the Kochetovsky hydro-engineering complex, the motor ship "Alpha", while entering the hydro-engineering complex chamber, collided with the lower gate with the bow of the ship.
Currently, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are clarifying the extent of damage to the motor ship and the gate. There were no casualties among the 12 crew members.
No oil spills were recorded at the accident site. The hydro-engineering complex is temporarily not allowing ships to pass.
The Kochetovsky hydro-engineering complex is a low-pressure hydro-engineering complex on the Don River, located 135 km from Rostov-on-Don. The hydro-engineering complex includes 2 navigable locks, a Poirée dam system, and a reinforced concrete spillway dam with a fish passage lock.
