AvtoVAZ has almost halved its car production volumes — the Granta and Vesta lines now stop earlier than usual, and workers perform household tasks instead of assembly, according to insiders.
For example, on June 2, the assembly of Granta was completed at 18:00, Vesta — at 19:00, and after that, the staff was engaged in auxiliary work until midnight.
Production of Lada Niva remains limited due to a shortage of components, but the situation is expected to improve. Meanwhile, the production of new models is minimal: only 7 Lada Aura cars were assembled in May, and Lada Iskra is produced in negligible quantities.
However, there is no cause for panic — dealer warehouses are overflowing with unsold cars, including Aura, which have been standing there for six months. Stocks of all models are maintained both at the factory and at the sellers.
It also became known that the ATS Group may release a dual-fuel version of Lada Aura, continuing cooperation with AvtoVAZ on CNG modifications.
