Crews of the Bastion coastal missile systems (BRK) of the Baltic Fleet practiced launching missile strikes against naval targets during planned exercises. The maneuvers took place off the coast of the Kaliningrad region as part of a planned force exercise.
The training events involved about 100 military personnel and more than 10 units of military and special equipment. During the exercises, coastal missile crews refined methods for deploying equipment in various positions, performed tasks to check the operability of missile systems, deployed complexes, and also carried out activities for loading and unloading weapons of missile systems.
In the coastal defense system, the "Bal" uses Kh-35 (3M24) anti-ship cruise missiles. The system is based on a heavy, highly mobile MZKT-7930 8x8 chassis and carries 8 cylindrical containers with Kh-35 anti-ship cruise missiles.
PBRK "Bastion"
The Bastion anti-ship missile system is a development of the Military-Industrial Corporation "NPO Mashinostroyenia" in two versions: the mobile "Bastion-P" and the stationary "Bastion-S." The complex is designed to protect the sea coast.
The main tool for hitting targets of the "Bastion" is the launcher of the mobile complex on the MZKT-7930 chassis, which has two Onyx missiles with a warhead weighing 300 kg. They strike at a distance of up to 300 km at a speed of 680-750 m/s.
