Funding for the development of 4G base stations by "Spectr" has been suspended

The reasons were uncertainty in the project and budget cuts

The company "Spectr", which is part of the "Rostec" Group, has suspended funding for the development of 4G base stations. The decision was a consequence of the abandonment of the creation of 5G base stations. 566 million rubles were allocated to the project from the budget, but new funds for development are not planned.

The audit note to the financial statements for 2024 indicates that in the current conditions there is uncertainty in the development of the project. Despite the fact that "Spectr" remains a participant in the "roadmap" for 4G, targeted funding was not provided to the company.

In 2024, "Spectr" recorded revenues of 7.1 million rubles, but the net loss amounted to 155 million rubles. Last year, the company already abandoned the development of 5G base stations and returned 3.7 billion rubles from a subsidy of 4.4 billion rubles. At the same time, a threat of bankruptcy arose, but the case ended in a settlement agreement.

Testing of "Spectr" base stations was carried out by "VimpelCom", but the equipment did not meet the necessary technical requirements. MegaFon reported the absence of commercial relations with "Spectr".
