The new Russian truck brand Uraman, focused on the production of all-wheel drive vehicles with 6x6 and 8x8 wheel configurations, was presented at the COMvex exhibition in Moscow.
The production of vehicles will be launched at factories in the Ulyanovsk and Chelyabinsk regions. The model range will be based on chassis with components from Chinese manufacturers: Qixing cabs, HanDe axles, Weichai engines with a capacity of 300–550 hp, and Shaanxi Fast Auto Drive Group mechanical gearboxes. In the future, it is planned to introduce robotic gearboxes.
The Uraman line includes both light trucks (6x4) and heavy off-road vehicles for difficult operating conditions. After the presentation at COMvex, the models will be sent for certification.
The appearance of Uraman intensifies competition in the segment of special equipment, which is in demand in Siberia, the Far North, and the defense sector. However, the success of the project depends on the quality of assembly and the service network.
